The Burnham-On-Sea area is set to experience its coldest week of the winter so far with sub-zero temperatures and a risk of light snow.
The Met Office has issued a warning for ice on Monday and Tuesday nights, with the potential for snow and sleet during Tuesday. Temperatures will plummet to a low of -3C overnight while the mercury during the day will struggle to get above 5C.
The Met Office says on Tuesday there is a risk of sleet or snow as a front of weather moves eastwards from the Atlantic, meeting the current cold air over the country.
The Met Office has issued a cold weather alert for the whole region, asking residents to wrap up warm and be aware of elderly neighbours who may need extra help and care in the cold conditions.
