A charity set up in memory of Burnham-On-Sea teenager Charley Marks is seeking to recruit young people as ambassadors.
In Charley’s Memory was set up after Charley took his own life, aged 18, in September 2014.
The charity now supports and helps hundreds of young people and those affected by mental health.
A spokesperson told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are looking to recruit more young ambassadors into the charity. It is a brilliant way to get young people talking about mental health in their own individual communities be it school, college, home or with friends.”
“The positions are open to people in school years 9 – 13. The role involves young people being a voice for ICM and tackling the problems with teenagers’ mental health.”
“Good listeners and good advice givers are perfect for this role. Ambassadors can help run events, advertise events, conduct questionnaires in school / college and potentially run drop in centres in local schools.”
“It wouldn’t be compulsory for Ambassadors to attend certain places at certain times unless Ambassadors wanted to help out with events.”
“No hands on work is mandatory unless they wanted to help with advertising and running drop in centres. Applications close on 13th August, 2017.”
