A sponsored walk is set to be held on Burnham-On-Sea’s beach in July to raise funds for an ice rink in the town.
Local group BEST (Burnham Events Social Team) announced in May that it wants to bring an ice rink to Burnham town centre this coming Christmas as an attraction over the festive period.
But it needs to raise thousands of pounds to turn the plans into a reality.
The sponsored walk will therefore help to raise the funds, and will be held on Saturday July 18th at 11am, with two distance routes available to those taking part.
The short walk will go from the jetty to the lighthouse and back, while the longer route will be from the jetty to Berrow wreck and back.
Fancy dress will be optional and prizes will be awarded to the top fundraisers.
Sponsor forms are available from the BIARS tourist information centre on the seafront, Toy Cupboard in Pier Street, and Julians gift shop in Burnham High Street.
