West Huntspill Church was filled with the sound of music on Saturday (14th July) when it held a day-long fundraising hymnathon.
A huge 571 hymns were sung during the day to raise hundreds of pounds towards the cost of new hymn books in the parish.
The event, at St Peter and All Hallows Church in West Huntspill, saw the organist and choirs singing the first verse of every hymn in the Mark Church Hymn book throughout the day.
Revd Tonya Nixon told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The event was a great success, with the music starting at 9.30am and ending at 5.07pm with contributions from many parishioners.”
Among those taking part were Coastline Singers, Allsorts, the church’s own choirs and local residents.
