Hundreds of Harley Davidson motorbikes to roar into Burnham-On-Sea for charity

-

Hundreds of Harley Davidson motorbikes will roar into Burnham-On-Sea for charity on Sunday 4th May.

The annual Cider Rally, organised by the Bridgwater Chapter of the Harley Davidson Owners Group (HOG), will see the bikes roaring through Burnham High Street at 11.30am and onto the seafront.

Jane Mitchell from the group told Burnham-On-Sea.com the theme for this year’s event is ‘Mexican fiesta’ so there will be plenty of colour and fun.

She adds: “This is one of 31 rallies that Bridgwater HOG have held over the last 34 years. The first one took place in a field in Watchet in 1991. We then moved to St Audries Bay in 1992, before settling in our current beach front location at Sand Bay in 2003.

“We held the event in 2020 virtually from the kitchen of our chapter director, Gill Mogg, fondly known as Moggy, due to COVID, and sadly it was cancelled in 2021.”

“Our weekend kicks off with our guests arriving on Friday, with a fun-filled weekend of entertainment and riding ahead.”

“On Saturday 3rd May our roadcrew will take groups of guests to tour various parts of our region.”

“Then on Sunday 4th May, there will be hundreds of Harley Davidsons of all different shapes and sizes taking to the road for our Grand Parade, departing Sand Bay, Kewstoke at 11am, passing through Weston-Super-Mare along the seafront, and arriving in Burnham-On-Sea around 11:30am.”

“This will be a spectacular sight and sound which will fill the High Street. Onlookers will be able to admire the motorcycles up close, once they are parked up. Make sure to give them a wave!”
