Brean’s Holiday Resort Unity has won the title of Somerset Holiday Park of the Year at an awards ceremony this week.
The first ever Bristol, Bath and Somerset Tourism Awards ceremony was held on Wednesday (October 19th).
There were 20 different award categories and finalists went through a rigorous three-stage judging process, taking into account websites, reviews, social media, visits by industry ‘mystery visitors’ and finally a judging panel to select the worthy winners.
Holiday Resort Unity in Brean won the award for Holiday Park of the Year and the family business was also Highly Commended in the Sustainable Tourism award category.
Alan House, Director, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are delighted and proud to be the first recipients of the Holiday Park of the Year award and that our holiday resort, and the work and dedication of the team here has been recognised by the tourism industry with this prestigious award.”
As a winner of the award, Holiday Resort Unity will now be fast tracked into the South West Tourism Excellence Awards, which take place in February 2017.
Holiday Resort Unity are also finalists in two categories of the forthcoming Somerset Business Awards; Family Business of the Year and Environmental and the awards take place in Taunton on the evening of the 21st October.
