Burnham-On-Sea experienced its hottest day for three years on Thursday (July 26th).
Temperatures at a weather station in Brent Knoll reached 29.9C (85.8F) on the hottest day of the year so far.
Local weather watcher Steve Baggs said Thursday’s maximum temperature had been the highest in the Burnham area since July 2009.
“The thermometer reached 29.9C shortly before 5pm and the average temperature from 6am-6pm was 24.3C,” he said.
