Firefighters rushed to the Highbridge Hotel on Friday night (April 2nd) after concerns that the building could be alight.
One fire engine from Burnham was sent to the property at 10pm, as pictured here, to investigate.
“A local resident had reported seeing a red glow inside the building and was concerned that it could have been set alight,” a fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“A full search of the building was made, however no sign of any fire was found and the call-out was put down to a false alarm with good intent.”
The former Highbridge Hotel was left in an unstable condition following a huge blaze in April 2008. Work on its renovation has been slowly progressing in recent months.
