‘Flower power’ was the theme of The Friends of Burnham Hospital’s annual social function at The Oaktree Arena last Saturday night (March 20th).
A large number of guests dressed in colourful flower-themed clothes – including Burnham Mayor Derick Cooper, as pictured above.
Chairman Tony Deahl said the event had been a great success and a profit of £1,060 was made.
Tony told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Moving to the Oaktree Arena was bit of a risk after many successful events at our previous venue in town but our decision was fully vindicated as everyone enjoyed the evening and commented on the excellence of the food and entertainment.”
“The record profit made all goes towards making life better for the patients and staff of the hospital. Work on the £750,000 refurbishment of Burnham Hospital, where £310,000 was provided by the Friends, is nearing completion and the official opening of the refurbished hospital will take place early in May.”
New Friends of the Hospital are always welcome at an annual cost of just £5. Anyone interested can phone 01278 783121 or write to the Friends of Burnham Hospital at the hospital in Love Lane.
