Burnham-On-Sea’s annual August Bank Holiday Monday summer fete promises to be “bigger and better than ever” this year, say organisers.
Today’s fete will be held as usual in the town’s Manor Gardens and will begin earlier than normal at 11am.
It is being jointly overseen by the Friends of Burnham Hospital and Burnham Lions this year.
“It will be the biggest fete ever seen in Burnham,” organiser Tony Deahl told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“There will be a number of attractions including face painting, inflatables, raffles, mini-golf, coconut stall, cakes, badgemaking, whiskey raffle, mini train rides, the award-winning human fruit machine and a bottle tombola with hundreds of bottles kindly donated by patients from all the medical practices in the area.”
Arena attractions will also include the Monarchs Acrobats, a kung fu demonstration and a magic show.
All profits from the fete will go to make life better for patients and staff of Burnham Hospital and the charities supported by Burnham Lions.
In addition, many other charities including BARB, Macmillan Cancer Support, the RNLI and Prostate Cancer Awareness will be present running stalls and games.
Tony added: “All that is needed to make the day a great success is the support of local people and visitors. You will be guaranteed a great day out.”
