Big crowds flock to Burnham’s Manor Gardens for annual fete
A dog show (pictured above) was just one of the many attractions that helped to attract large crowds to Burnham’s annual hospital fete on Bank Holiday Monday, August 29th.
Hundreds of holidaymakers and residents gathered in the town’s Manor Gardens in glorious sunshine to watch the ‘Canine Capers Dog Show’, a magician’s show and support a range of local charities and groups.
Stalls, displays, games, raffles and refreshments were on offer from a line-up of local organisations.
The groups included Burnham Venture Scouts, the Rotary Club, WI, the BAY Centre, Burnham Diabetes Group (pictured) and the Burnham Lodge of Moose International (pictured right).
Burnham-On-Sea’s RNLI Supporters’ Group also joined up with the town’s RNLI fundraising team (right) to run their own stall, selling a range of merchandise, souvenirs and greetings cards which proved popular with the crowds.
The annual fete is organised by the League Of Friends and raises many hundreds of pounds for groups across the area. A spokesman thanked all those who had attended for their valuable support.
