A Burnham-On-Sea charity shop is counting the cost of vandalism after one of its shopfront windows was smashed this week.
Weston Hospice Care in College Street has had to board up one of its windows, as pictured, after vandals smashed it in an overnight attack.
The shop’s Assistant Manager Rose Daniels told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It seems to have been senseless vandalism – nothing was taken, but there was lot of mess that had to be cleared up.”
“It is very frustrating because the repairs will have to be funded out of charity funds that would have gone to the hospice.”
It is likely to cost several hundred pounds to get the large pane of glass replaced.
The incident has been reported to Burnham police, who have appealed to anyone with information to contact them via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
