Hospice celebrates its 30th birthday at Burnham-On-Sea concert

-

The 30th anniversary of St Margaret’s Hospice was celebrated during a fundraising concert in Burnham-On-Sea on Sunday evening (May 9th).

Over 100 supporters attended the event in The Princess where Berrow’s Coastline Singers and Burnham’s King Alfred Concert Band performed.

A special 30th birthday cake was cut by the charity’s long-standing volunteer Barbara Fletcher, watched by the charity’s Julie Draper and Burnham’s Mayor and Mayoress Derick and Christine Cooper.

Julie Draper told Burnham-On-Sea.com at Sunday’s concert: “To reach 30 is a fantastic milestone. It’s incredible to think we have been going that long.”

“The people of Burnham-On-Sea have given us wonderful support over the years which is why we wanted to hold this special concert here in the town.”

Barbara was chosen to cut the celebratory cake due to her 30 year involvement with the charity as a volunteer.
