Burnham-On-Sea Horticultural Show underway this weekend

Hundreds of gardening and craft entries are on show at Burnham-On-Sea and District Horticultural Society’s 44th annual this weekend (Saturday August 13th and Sunday 14th).

Sanders Garden World is the venue for the popular show, which is open to the public on Saturday, August 13th from 1pm until 6pm and on Sunday, August 14th from 10am until 4pm.

The prize-giving and awards presentation ceremony will be held at 3.45pm on the Sunday.

The sections in which competitors are invited to enter include floral art, junior, domestic, handicraft, such as hand-made cards, crochet and knitted items, cross stitch and tapestry.

People will also be able to enter sections for amateur photography, pot plants, flowers, fruit and vegetables.

Entrants will have the opportunity to win a variety of prizes such as cups, shields and medals in the competition’s 10 sections and 133 classes. Classes will be available for children in two categories, under 11-year-olds and 11 to 16-year-olds. Admission to the event is free.
