Four horse riders were injured at Berrow on Wednesday (August 13th) when their animals were spooked and threw them onto the sand.
Ambulance crews and Coastguards were called to the scene by lifeguards and beach wardens, as pictured here, following the incident at 1pm.
An ambulance spokeswoman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We received a call at 1.02pm reporting one person had been thrown from their horse, but it quickly emerged that three others had been hurt as well.”
“One horse had apparently bolted and scared several others.”
“We sent five ambulance assets to the scene. Four people were taken to Weston General Hospital. Three had minor injuries and one had more serious injuries.”
