Fire crews rescue stranded horse from Rooksbridge rhyne

Firefighters from Burnham-On-Sea rescued a horse stranded in a rhyne in Rooksbridge on Tuesday evening (March 19th).

Crews were called to Rooksbridge Road at 6pm after reports the animal was stuck in a water-filled rhyne and sinking rapidly.

Two fire appliances from Burnham and two specialist rescue appliances from Bridgwater were sent to the scene.

“Crews confirmed there was a horse stuck in a water-filled ditch and released the horse unharmed using specialist rescue equipment and then took it to a place of safety.”
