The owner of a popular hardware shop in Burnham-On-Sea has made a ‘heartfelt appeal’ to find a new owner for the business.
Home Hardware in the High Street is currently on sale and unless a new owner can be found by next Spring, the store will close down.
Speaking to Burnham-On-Sea.com, owner Phil Hemming, pictured, said: “I am making a heartfelt appeal for a young entrepreneur to carry on my business or I will be forced to close down in March 2019.”
“I took the business on over 23 years ago when I was made redundant and have successfully increased the turnover over these years despite competition from Proper Job and more recently B&M.”
“I can produce audited figures for the past few years to any interested parties to prove the business is wholly viable.”
Phil added: “The lease on the property is up for renewal next March and as I will then by 67 I am unwilling to sign a further 15-year lease and would like to retire.”
“There is scope for increased sales as I do not do any internet business and I feel a younger person would have the enthusiasm to carry the business forward.”
