Thieves steal valuables from caravans at Burnham-On-Sea holiday park

-

Laptops, TVs, handbags and other valuables have been stolen during a spate of thefts from caravans at a holiday park in Burnham-On-Sea over the weekend.

Police told Burnham-On-Sea.com on Monday (May 17th) that over a dozen caravan awnings were slashed at Home Farm Holiday Park when the thieves struck.

Inspector Roger Tolley confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com: “At least thirteen awnings were slashed and property was removed from inside. The stolen items included TVs, gaming consoles, laptops, handbags and fishing equipment.”

“Some of the stolen property has been recovered from a motorway verge after council workers cutting grass came across the items, but more is missing. We have been out to the victims and our investigations are well underway.”

He appealed for anyone who saw people acting suspiciously or trying to sell cheap valuables to get in contact via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Inspector Tolley added: “We are working with Home Farm and other holiday parks to ensure security is maximised over the coming weeks.”

Home Farm owner Steve Atkinson told Burnham-On-Sea.com that security is already very high at the park.

“These were opportunistic thieves who managed to get around our 24 hour security. We are working closely with the police on the matter,” he said.
