Burnham’s Mayor and Mayoress open care home’s new extension

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Mayor and Mayoress were the special guests at the opening of a new wing of a Brent Knoll nursing home this week.

Michael and Maria Clarke were invited to Holywell Nursing Home in Brent Street to cut a ribbon to mark the official opening ceremony of the extension, which comprises 10 new bedrooms, a new kitchen and a larger living room.

The Mayor and Mayoress also met residents, their families, staff and the project’s architects during their visit.

Deputy Sister Sue Whitlock told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was a lovely afternoon and it was wonderful to have the Mayor and Mayoress along to perform the opening. The residents really appreciated that they took time to have a word with each of them.”
