A group of Burnham-On-Sea musicians performed at a Hollywood couple’s wedding earlier this week.
The Riverbrew were chosen by Hollywood couple Alexander Cary (the writer and Emmy-winning author of Homeland) and actress Jennifer Marsala (from Lie to Me and Homeland).
The VIP ceremony took place at the St Audries Park country retreat in Somerset on New Year’s Eve.
The couple’s guests, who included actor Damian Lewis, were treated to a string quartet, magician and tarot card reader followed by the evening entertainment of The Riverbrew, who are an eight-piece party band.
“We are used to playing weddings and have performed at over 300 during the last ten years,” Greg Willis, the band’s sax player, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“It’s always an honour to be invited to be a part of a couple’s big day – it doesn’t matter if the couple are from Langport or L.A.!”
“They really enjoyed what we played. Alex told us he thought the band was ‘awesome’ and Jenn said ‘we made their night’ – it was a great party’.”
Greg added that this year looks like being a busy, high-profile year for the band who are also booked to play at a BBC Radio 1 DJ’s wedding in July.
Formed in 2003, The Riverbrew has gone from strength to strength and celebrated its decade of being together last year.
“We have performed at many events, from intimate private parties through to festivals, corporate presentations and award ceremonies,” added Greg.
