A new £2million swimming pool complex at a Burnham-On-Sea holiday park is on track to open next month.
Burnham Holiday Village is building the new facilities, which are set to be opened at the end of March by Burnham’s World BMX Champion Liam Phillips and Highbridge Paralympic swimmer Anthony Stephens.
Leisure Manager Simon Briggs told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We’re expanding our existing pool, creating a much larger swimming area with slides, children’s play areas and fun water features.”
“The new swimming facilities are a welcomed addition to our Park and to the Haven estate as a whole – it’s great that the company is showing so much confidence in Burnham.”
“The new facilities will enhance the experience of holidaymakers and owners, but we also intend to make day passes available to local people in future.”
He added that the recent bad weather has delayed some of the external work but said the overall project is on schedule and the building will be opening on March 28th.
Burnham and Highbridge’s Mayor Martin Cox will be opening the new facilities with Liam Phillips and Anthony Stephens.
