Over 50 children enjoyed the last week of their summer holidays at a Burnham-On-Sea church’s holiday club.
Burnham Baptist Church in College Street held a ‘Mega Makers Holiday Club’ during the final week of August.
The organisers said they were delighted by the response, with children and adults alike having a great time.
The week included songs, messy games, drama sketches, DVD film clips, junk modelling, and stories about Jesus – all centred around the theme of inventions.
Organiser Linda Ayers said: “The week ended with our Sunday service, where we introduced the adults to the songs we had been learning, as well as the Mega Machine which turned small items into larger copies of them – when it was working.”
There was also a further surprise on Sunday when, at the end of the drama series, Minister Steve Ayers, was doused with mushy peas.
“It’s what you get for playing the villain in the drama,” he remarked, as he dripped with vegetables.
Next year’s Holiday club is already pencilled in for Monday 24th – Friday 28th August.
