Get a blast from the Burnham-On-Sea’s past at town history talk

-

Burnham-On-Sea residents are being invited to take a trip down memory lane when the town’s history goes under the spotlight during a special historical talk today (Wednesday, May 12th).

North Sedgemoor Local History Group is holding ‘A Time Travel Walk Around Burnham’ in the lecture theatre at Highbridge’s King Alfred School.

The group’s chairman, John Strickland, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We’ll have a slide show featuring over 70 fascinating pictures of old Burnham, like this one of the High Street during the early 1900s. It promises to be a fascinating evening looking back in time at how the town has developed over the years.”

The event starts at 7pm at King Alfred School and members of the public are welcome to attend at just £1 per person. Alternatively, membership of the group for 2010 costs just £3.
