Hinkley Point B power station near Burnham-On-Sea has returned to normal operations this week after what EDF Energy called an 18-day “planned inspection outage”.
Hinkley Point B Unit 7 (Reactor 3) was taken offline on Friday April 28th and was returned to service at 2.30am on Wednesday morning (May 17th).
EDF spokeswoman Annelise Cowie told Burnham-On-Sea.com that the work was part of a “planned inspection outage”.
It was added that the work was part of a regular inspection and maintenance programme for each of EDF’s reactors. The firm has to hold regular inspections and maintenance checks to comply with its nuclear site licence.
