Burnham-On-Sea’s carnival float came second in its class at the annual Shepton Mallet on Wednesday night (November 12th).
Hillview Carnival Club’s ‘Jester’s Parade’, pictured here, impressed the crowds and judges at the fourth carnival of the season following Bridgwater last Friday, North Petherton on Saturday and Burnham on Monday.
“We had another great night in Shepton,” Hillview Chairman Mark Bishop told Burnham-On-Sea.com. “It went very well and we got our best result of the carnival season so far – a second place in our class!”
“There’s a very high standard of floats this year and we congratulate Marina Sydenham on their first place.”
Hillview now move on to Wells Carnival on Friday night. Their impressive 100ft-long float was built at the Bristol Bridge Inn in Highbridge at a cost of £14,000 and has 12,500 light bulbs. Click here for Burnham-On-Sea.com’s behind-the-scenes report on how it was built.
