Burnham-On-Sea’s Hillview Carnival Club won second place at North Petherton Carnival on Saturday night (November 6th), bouncing back from their disappointment on the night before.
The club’s theatrical-themed cart, called The Show, impressed the judges with their enthusiasm.
It came after Hillview suffered a puncture at the start of Friday’s Bridgwater Carnival, holding up the whole procession.
“All went much better at Saturday’s North Petherton Carnival,” Hillview Chairman Mark Bishop told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
The cart achieved second place in its category behind Marina Sydenham in first place. Toppers were third.
The huge cart has cost £12,000 to build and is decorated with over 10,000 lights, half of which are environmentally-friendly.
Hillview will be on show at the Burnham Carnival on Monday evening.
