Members of Burnham-On-Sea’s Hillview Carnival Club are this week putting the finishing touches to their float.
Called ‘Yee Ha’, this year’s entry is a cowboy-themed float with colourful western decorations that is sure to be a hit during the processions around Somerset during the coming weeks.
The entry will first go on show at Bridgwater Carnival on Saturday November 4th followed by the Burnham-On-Sea Carnival on Monday November 6th.
“Our theme was chosen in a vote by the children, the music was chosen by them and the chorrography has been directed by Jess Buck and Lottie Nicholson,” says the club’s spokeswoman.
“All the children are really looking forward to putting on another great display. They are especially looking foward to taking part in front of their home town procession on November 6th.”
The club has around a dozen builders and decorateers working around the clock to get the float finished in time.
“It’s been a great team effort again this year – it’s all going to plan and it’s going to be a hugely busy last few days putting the finishing touches to the cart before Bridgwater.”
She added that the club thanks Burnham Waste, Mr and Mrs Rickards, The Oaktree, Lighthouse Pub, Morley Tubbs, Print Hive Weston and Jays Transport for their support.
