Burnham-On-Sea’s Hillview Carnival Club team are working around the clock to complete their huge ghost-themed cart for the start of the new carnival season.

The team of 20 volunteers say they are on track to have their entry, called ‘The Spook Returns’, ready for the first event in the Guy Fawkes circuit, Bridgwater Carnival, on November 3rd followed by the 2018 Burnham-On-Sea Carnival on Monday November 5th.

“Excitement is definitely building now,” Hillview Carnival Club Chairman Duncan Britton told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“The theme of our cart this year is ghosts and the entry is called ‘The Spook Returns’.

“We are a small local juvenile club with 18 children and around 20 adult helpers, but everyone is helping to get the cart ready.”

“Everyone at the club is also hugely grateful to all at West Country Parks and The Windmill at Edithmead for their support as our main sponsor this year.”

“This is our fifth cart that we are building on the site of Burnham Waste, so we are hugely grateful to Terry Rickard and his family for their support.”
