Burnham-On-Sea’s carnival club got off to a great start at Saturday’s Bridgwater Carnival, coming second in their class.
Hillview Carnival Club’s entry, called Hollywood Hotel, impressed the judges and 100,000 strong crowd at the first event on the Guy Fawkes carnival circuit.
The float – which is 100ft long cart and has cost over £10,000 to build – came second in its category behind Marina Sydenham’s entry, Clown Town.
The team at Hillview worked around the clock to get the entry finished in time and said they were pleased with the Bridgwater result.
The next carnival will be Weston this Friday night. The cart will come home to the Highbridge and Burnham Carnival on Monday, November 12th.
