Burnham’s Hillview Carnival Club off to a great start in Bridgwater Carnival

Burnham-On-Sea’s Hillview Carnival Club got their carnival season off to a great start at Bridgwater Carnival on Saturday night (November 3rd).

The club’s huge ghost-themed cart, which is called ‘The Spook Returns’, was cheered on by local spectators along the route of the carnival. The cart came second in its category behind Marina Sydenham.

However, it didn’t all go to the plan with a technical failure meaning the cart was only half lit for much of the evening.

The club’s 16 young members on the cart are now eagerly awaiting the 2018 Burnham-On-Sea Carnival on Monday November 5th in front of their home crowd.

Hillview Carnival Club Chairman Duncan Britton said: “We have a great cart this year and hopes are high for another successful season.”

“Everyone at the club is also grateful to West Country Parks and The Windmill at Edithmead for their support as our main sponsor.”
