Burnham-On-Sea’s Hillview Carnival Club holds awards presentation night

-

Dozens of members and supporters of Burnham-On-Sea’s Hillview Carnival Club attended the group’s annual presentation night on Saturday (March 9th).

Hillview Chairman Duncan Britton handed out awards and certificates to dozens of members at Highbridge’s Globe Inn.

The event recognised the club’s hard work over the past year, which culminated with its ghost-themed float, The Spook Returns, winning second place in its category at the 2018 Burnham Carnival parade and the county category.

Duncan thanked the club’s members for their “incredible support during a busy year,” and he thanked the club’s many local supporters and sponsors. Trophies were presented to the children who performed on the club’s float.

A cheque was also handed over to Cancer Research UK following the club’s carol singing over the Christmas period.

“Special thanks go to The Globe Inn for all their support, plus our sponsors Westcountry Parks, and Mr and Mrs Rickard from Burnham Waste for the use of their land to build our entry. We also thank the Ritz Social Club, and Oaktree Arena, who have helped with fundraising.”
