Students at Highbridge’s King Alfred School Academy were celebrating on Thursday (August 22nd) after achieving an impressive set of GCSE exam results.
The school showed increases in grades across the board, making it one of the most improved set of results of any school in the south west region.
Some 19% of students achieved grades 9-7, while 53% scored grades 9-5, and 73% had grades 9-4.
The students also achieved some fantastic individual results with Ben Youd and Nikola Fabicka achieving 8 grades 9-7(A*-A), including 4 grade 9’s and Umama Akma achieving 9 Grades 9-7.
Sophie Fenegan, Oliver Farnham, Hannah Murdoch and Louis Jones also achieved 8 grades 9-7.
The academy is one of the fastest improving schools in the south west with two years of significant improvement and positive news.
Principal Nathan Jenkins, pictured above, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: ”There is such a brilliant buzz about the academy and we are so thrilled with these GCSE results which come on the back of an amazing year.”
