Highbridge to switch on its Christmas lights this Saturday

-

Highbridge’s Christmas lights will be formally switched on this Saturday evening (November 30th).

A group of residents and town councillors will gather outside the Community Centre in Market Street to watch the ceremony at 6.45pm, led by Highbridge Chamber of Trade Chairman Mike Murphy.

Mike told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We have over 65 lights this year, including a smattering of new ones, along with Christmas trees in place across the town centre.”

“It’s a good display again and the Town Council has recently given us funding that is being stored up to buy new lights for next year’s display.”

The town’s Christmas tree, located besides the Frank Foley statue, has been supplied by Burnham and Highbridge Town Council and will also be formally lit up on Saturday night.

A £2,500 grant was recently awarded to Highbridge Chamber of Trade by the Town Council towards the replacement of its Christmas lights.
