Highbridge has put the final finishing touches to its annual display of Christmas street lights, which has been marked with a short ceremony on Thursday evening (December 9th).
More than 30 lights and Christmas trees have been installed on buildings across the town centre, adding a splash of festive colour.
At Thursday’s ceremony were the Mayor and Mayoress of Burnham and Highbridge, Cllr Michael Clarke and Maria Clarke, plus representatives from the Highbridge Chamber of Trade and the Town Council.
Highbridge’s Christmas lighting is joint funded by Highbridge Chamber of Trade and Burnham and Highbridge Town Council.
Mayor Michael Clarke told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The Council is very grateful for the support of the Chamber of Trade in organising this, in particular for the hard work put in by the Chamber’s Chairman, Mike Murphy.”
The bulk of the decorations are in Church Street and Market Street, with others at Jubilee Gardens where the town’s ‘Star of Highbridge’ is displayed on the base of the town clock.
