The incident happened at around 11.30am on Saturday (November 4th) as the woman walked along Church Street.
She became aware of a white motor vehicle approaching her, which pulled up alongside her as she was walking.
“The male driver of the vehicle called out to her, but she declined to speak to him and continued on her way,” said a police spokesman.
“However, the man then started walking on the pavement behind her and he grabbed her arm. The woman pulled away from him and ran off.”
Police do havegot any further details about the vehicle involved, but have got a description of the man involved.
He was described as a man about 5ft 10ins tall, of thin build, aged in his mid 30s. He had medium length hair and a mark on the right hand side of his face which was possibly a scar. He was wearing a scruffy black T-shirt and dirty faded blue jeans.
