Two major planning applications to build more than 200 new homes in Highbridge have been unveiled this week.
Derek Mead, the man behind the successful bid to build an Asda supermarket in Highbridge, has submitted an application to build almost 170 homes.
His company, Mead Realisations, wants to construct 169 dwellings – all contained within two and three storey buildings – on land at Springfield Road (shown on the map) next to the new supermarket.
And in a separate application, Barratt Homes has confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com that it has submitted a separate bid to build 45 dwellings on land north of Worston Road in Highbridge.
Both applications are set to be discussed by planners at town and district council level during the coming weeks.
