Staff at Highbridge furniture store Sopha are celebrating this week after being announced as a finalist in the Somerset Business Awards.
Sopha have been short-listed for the award ‘New Business of the Year’
in this year’s Somerset Business Awards.
Founder, Matt Scott, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This is a huge achievement for us as we have not yet been open a year. We have been short-listed for several other awards but being one of the final new businesses in the whole of Somerset is certainly the top accolade given the record breaking number of entries this year.”
Emily Scott, co-founder, added: “We were excited to hear earlier this month when we were shortlisted for a judge’s visit amd could share our business ideas and demonstrate our excellent customer service through our hard-working team.”
“We’re humbled following the visit to find that they put us through to the final three for this award. We look forward to attending the Awards Evening being held next month on Friday 25th October at Weston’s Winter Gardens Pavilion. We would like to wish all the other finalists good luck.”
Sopha, based in Church Street, Highridge, is a new kind of furniture store that puts ethics first from only selling quality products from trusted manufacturers to reducing the amount of plastic they use.
“We are honest with our pricing as we offer best prices all year-round. There are no dull
brands; we aim to make products as bespoke as possible rather than having the same furniture as every other store. Sopha creates products that we can be confident in the quality and we’re discovering how to change the industry for the long term.”
