Sopha, the independent furniture company in Highbridge, has been busy filming its first TV ad which is set to appear on Sky TV.
Owners Matt and Emily Scott are venturing onto Sky TV so that even more people across the region can discover their unique furniture store in Highbridge’s Church Street.
Especially for the filming, the Sopha team converted the original beer cellar from the George Hotel days, transforming it into a fresh backdrop for their brand-new TV ad.
In the advertisement, which will begin airing on Sky this week, viewers are taken on a journey through doors that open without being touched and clocks that appear all over the walls.
With multiple sofas, beds, and lots of cosy inspiration for every room in homes; it aims to encourage viewers to jump right in.
Co-owner of Sopha, Matt Scott, says: “Advertising on new platforms like Sky and YouTube is extremely cost effective and beneficial so we hope that the advertisements will reach out to the local community, as well as people from further afield.”
Simple Media Managing Director Mark Reason, the agency behind the launch, adds: “It is a pleasure to work with such a fantastic team like Sopha in the local area of Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge. As far as I know, they are the first local business to harness the power of television.”
After spending two and a half years renovating and preserving much of the former hotel’s heritage and stonework to create the one-of-a-kind modern retail store, Matt and Emily are thrilled to see it expanding and growing onto new platforms.
They add that Sopha’s ethos is to be an ethical retailer, using not only local suppliers, but also an ethical plastic-free coffee shop to bring the community together over delicious fresh food and quality drinks. With this and Sopha’s handcrafted, high-quality products at affordable prices, customers can ‘create something great’ – which is the name of the new TV ad.
