Plans to expand Highbridge Enterprise Centre have been given a ‘thumbs up’ by town councillors this week.
Burnham and Highbridge Town Councillors supported the scheme when they considered the plans at a meeting of the planning applications committee this week.
“Councillors were keen to support the scheme on the grounds that it would encourage business and employment,” Town Council Clerk Denise Emery told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
The County Council is seeking Full Planning Permission to expand the centre in Bennett Way, next to the town’s Isleport Recycling Centre, by adding a new building as part of phase two.
The first phase saw the erection of a two-storey office building and a single-storey industrial building containing three units, which was completed in March 2015.
“Due to the success of phase one, we are seeking to deliver a lightweight industrial unit to provide an additional 220m2 of enterprise space,” a spokesperson told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
