-

An 18 year-old teenager has been arrested by Police after Burnham-On-Sea fire crews, Police and the ambulance service were called to a crash at a roundabout in Highbridge during the early hours of Sunday (November 3rd).

The driver of the car lost control at around 2.15am as he drove around the A38 roundabout leading to Highbridge’s nearby Asda supermarket.

The vehicle ploughed through the metal railings at the edge of the roundabout, as pictured here, leaving the car with severe front-end damage.

A Police spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were called to reports of single vehicle collision in Church Street, Highbridge at about 2.15am on Sunday morning.”

“The driver, aged 18, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and has been charged with driving a motor vehicle when his alcohol level was above the limit.”

“He was released on police bail to appear at Taunton Magistrates Court on 5th December.”

It’s the latest in a series of collisions on the roundabout.
