A Highbridge couple have spoken of the “great honour” at being invited to The Queen’s Garden Party at Buckingham Palace.
Roger Keen, a former district councillor for Highbridge, was nominated by Sedgemoor District Council to attend the prestigious event last week with his wife Janet for ‘service to the community’.
Talking to Burnham-On-Sea.com, Roger said: “It was a huge honour to be invited. We had a very memorable day – it was a once-in-a-lifetime visit.”
“We saw The Queen and Prince Harry and enjoyed the gardens at Buckingham Palace, which are simply wonderful.”
“We will look back on it with fond memories for years to come. The only slight disappointment was the weather, which was wet and windy.”
