Judges from the annual Britain In Bloom competition visited Highbridge on Thursday (July 9th) and praised the town’s colourful flower displays.
Organisers from the Highbridge In Bloom committee have been making final preparations for the judges in recent weeks and, according to the organisers, the work was well received.
“The judges were impressed at the quality of the flower arrangements outside Highbridge Community Centre, in Church Street and they particularly liked St John’s School and Apex Park,” Pam Lyes, one of the organisers, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“The visit went very well and the judges had lots of good things to say about Highbridge. We’ve got strong support from the residents, Sedgemoor District Council, the Town Council and Highbridge Dreamscheme this year, who have all ensured the town looked in excellent shape.”
Burnham-On-Sea.com joined the judges as they made their way around the town, pictured here. Among those joining the walkabout was Highbridge Mayor Derick Cooper, County Council John Woodman and Highbridge PCSO Gill Bawler. The town will find out in September how it has performed in the overall competition.
