Burnham-On-Sea theatre tours held to mark Heritage Open Day

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Princess Theatre took part in a nationwide Heritage Open Day on Saturday (10th September) by offering visitors a chance to see parts of the theatre usually off-limits.

The national event was held to celebrate the UK’s hidden heritage – and many buildings were open to the general public for free, or displaying areas of buildings that would usually be closed.

Group tours were led by Princess theatre manager Sam Nicol and volunteer Alan Huddart, as pictured, providing a rare opportunity to see behind the scenes at the busy facilities.

Sam told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We had a good number of visitors for the tours to see the backstage area, sound box and lighting gantry, plus the loft space. There has been positive feedback.”
