Police make arrests after helicopter search over Highbridge

Police in Highbridge used a helicopter to track a group of youths after the theft of a motorbike in the town on Tuesday afternoon (November 18th).

Police were alerted after the scooter was stolen on Tuesday lunchtime and then driven at speed around the town’s streets.

Five people were arrested in connetion with the incident, it was confirmed on Wednesday morning.

Spokesman Steve Game confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com: “There was a chase in Highbridge after a scooter was stolen.”

“The helicopter was already in the area and therefore was used to help officers on the ground with the search.”

The incident began at 1.35pm and ended in Mallard Place, near Apex Park, as pictured below.
