Air ambulance lands in Highbridge to fly accident victim to hospital

-

A Highbridge woman was airlifted to hospital on Saturday evening (June 23rd) after suffering an accident in which she fell down a staircase.

Ambulance crews were called to a property in Highbridge Road shortly after 6pm and, because the lady had a potentially serious head injury, a helicopter was called to fly her to hospital.

As pictured here, a red Devon Air Ambulance landed on the playing fields at King Alfred School to take the patient to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol.

It was later confirmed by a friend of the family that her injuries were fortunately not as serious as first thought.
