Hedgehog enthusiasts are being invited to a garden centre near Burnham-On-Sea this weekend for a two day event dedicated to the prickly creatures.
Maria Fountain, who works at Secret World Wildlife Rescue Centre in East Huntspill, will host the Hedgehog Roadshow at Sanders Garden World in Brent Knoll on Saturday October 31st and Sunday November 1st from 10.30am until 3.30pm.
Maria said: “During the Hedgehog Roadshow, visitors will have the chance to learn how to make their gardens hedgehog-friendly and discover the best ways to care for any hedgehogs that come into their garden.”
Maria has a wealth of animal knowledge and has worked with large and small animals for 39 years. In the past, she has hand-reared five monkeys, which now live at Secret World.
Peter Burks, General Manager at Sanders Garden World, added: “Hedgehogs provide a vital role in helping to naturally control slugs in the garden and are an important friend to the gardener. We are delighted Maria will be sharing her knowledge of hedgehogs with our customers.”
