Heartfelt tributes have been paid to a Burnham-On-Sea resident who has sadly died of Coronavirus.
Steve Lynham, 44, died of complications related to COVID-19 at Royal Brompton Hospital on Saturday May 2nd after initially being treated at Weston General and the BRI. Here, we look back at his life.
Steve was the oldest of five boys alongside Nigel, Tim, Edward and Oliver. His parents were Anthony and Gaynor.
Steve joined the Royal Navy at age 16, something he loved and was very proud of.
He met Denise when he was 19 and she was 21 and they married two years later. Steve left the Navy four years later for more family time and the couple had two lovely children — Jack, 20, and Jodie, 18.
Steve loved playing darts for Highbridge Social Club and enjoyed burning wood in his fire pit with a beer.
He was the area manager for the Hermès delivery service for the last 15 years.
His widow Denise says: “He was the most caring and fun husband, dad, brother, son, uncle and friend.”
“Everyone loved him and he loved them and life. He will be sorely missed.”
“We as a family are heartbroken. There are no words, just great memories of an amazing man. Love you, Steve.”
She says the couple were due to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary next year.
Denise said she hopes the family’s experience will encourage people to take the threat of Covid-19 ‘seriously’ and to stick to the current lockdown rules.
“Please take this seriously. People need to stop going house to house. Stick to the rules. The lockdown needs to stay in place, so others don’t have to go through the heartache we are going through. Stay safe.”
