Walkers encouraged to join guided health walk in Burnham-On-Sea
A family-friendly health walk is set to be held this Wednesday (26th August) in Burnham-On-Sea.
Walkers are being encouraged to gather at 9.45am at Burnham’s Marine Cove Gardens on the seafront, ready for a prompt start at 10am.
“Departing from Marine Cove, those taking part will take a leisurely walk along The Esplanade through to Apex Park before returning to Burnham along Marine Drive,” said Sedgemoor District Council’s Community Relations Officer, Sam Taylor.
“For those wanting a shorter route the group can be met en-route at the tourist information centre on The Esplanade at around 10.15am.”
“The route is flat and on mainly concrete paths covering approximately 2.5 miles over roughly an hour.”
“The event will be a good way to meet new people and enjoy some gentle exercise at the same time – and you could enjoy a healthy picnic in Marine Cove after your walk.”
Children are welcome to attend but anyone under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Four-legged friends can also join in the fun but must be on a lead at all times with any mess being cleared up immediately.
