A small field in Burnham-On-Sea could soon have a new development of 12 new homes built on it if an application submitted to planners this week gets the go-ahead.
Burnham-On-Sea.com learns the application includes 12 homes and 18 car parking spaces for land to the rear of 1 Hawkins Close, which borders the town’s allotments, pictured.
The proposed scheme is set to be discussed by town and district planners over the next few weeks.
The scheme proposed the demolition of a building at 1 Hawkins Close to form access to the proposed group of new homes.
Local residents have already voiced their concerns about the scheme, fearing that another patch of green space will be lost to homes, while others say filling in what is regarded by some as ‘waste land’ may be a good move.
