Burnham and Highbridge St John Ambulance Cadet Hannah Dowell has been named Somerset Cadet of the Year for 2012.
Hannah, 15, spent Sunday (January 8th) at the County St John Headquarters in Bridgwater where she competed against cadets from across Somerset.
Hannah had to give a presentation and take part in a formal interview with the judging panel, as well as pass a uniform inspection, and first aid test.
There were also team building games during the day and the candidates were also assessed on their social skills over lunch.
Hannah lives in Burnham-On-Sea and attends Highbridge’s King Alfred school and has been involved in the local division since joining as a Badger.
Her role will now involve attending events across Somerset, representing the youth of St John.
A spokesman for Burnham and Highbridge St John Ambulance Cadets told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Everyone at Highbridge Cadets is very proud of Hannah and congratulates her on her success.”
